Ingredients

  • Salmon (with skin)
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Cajun seasoning
  • Butter
  • Thyme
  • 2x Garlic cloves
  • Lemon

 

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Take the salmon out ahead of time so it’s room temperature

  2. Bend the salmon and score the skin (half an inch deep, close together, all the way across)

  3. Season both sides with salt, pepper and cajun spice. Rub it in there

  4. Mop up

  5. Heat up a pan

  6. Once heated, put the oil on

  7. Lay the salmon on the pan, skin side down

  8. With the spatula, lightly press the salmon down to keep the skin flat

  9. Turn the salmon over (after color changing 2/3 way) and leave for about 4 minutes. when turning over, tilt the pan so the oil gets underneath it

  10. Add garlic and thyme to the pan

  11. Turn the salmon over again so it’s skin side down and add a knob of butter


  12. Spoon the contents of the pan over the salmo

  13. Let the salmon sit on low heat for 6.5-7 minute

  14. Take it off the pan

  15. Finish by squeezing lemon on top
